Hello,

before I get rude comments about how on earth the SOUTHAMPTON BOSSOMS OF MAGNITUDE are going to get through the chest CT....Blink Laugh

I wonder if any of you have had this and how it went.

Do you have to have arms above your head because if you do Im scuppered!

Im going for an emergency one on 12th at 18.30.

its a one that is "enhanced" apparently.

Hi Jenni,

I had an abdominal CT scan about 12 years ago and yes, I'm afraid I did have to keep my arms above my head, luckily for me that was pre-RA!
The scanner itself is fine, just like a big doughnut and not claustrophobic but I don't know what an "enhanced " one is!

Hi Jenni

I had a chest CT scan recently and did have to have arms up I'm afraid. Although it is uncomfortable it doesn't take long. The trouble is you have to go into a polo mint shaped ring up to your neck so your arms wouldn't fit through. Nurses are brilliant. I am sure they have come across this before. They will sort something for you. Good luck

thanks- I have just rung them up to ask and they didnt answer. I have left a message because I cant do the arms!

bit concerned as the top of the letter (which I had previously missed) says Oncology Scanning Dept.

It's highly likely they only have one scanner and that's the best place for it. Try not to read too much into this. Easier said than done, I know xxxxx
